Pinecrest Street Refinishing Project: A Local Success Story

The purpose of this project is to rehabilitate 0.4 miles of Pine Street from East Aurora Porterville Road to Main Street. The improvements include reconstruction of the pavement, drainage system, curbing and snow storage areas, driveway aprons, sidewalks and curb ramps. In addition, the bridge over Tannery Brook will be rehabilitated and permanent signs and markings installed.

The roadway is currently in poor condition with many potholes and patching. The permanent improvements will improve safety, operations and access to the intersection. Adding a traffic signal (the temporary signal began operating in August 2021), left-turn lanes on northbound and southbound Fox Mill Road, four crosswalks, sidewalks and curb ramps will help to ease congestion and improve safety and accessibility at the intersection which experiences over 12,000 vehicles per day.
